Wednesday November 11. Painting my grandparents.

I started this in my last blog. I like the image and the strong tonal areas. This is where I got to by last Sunday.

This is the photo I am using.

I keep changing from white to ultramarine blue. The complex scene in the background is being attempted in broad strokes of blue.

More of each stage.

Each time I come to the painting, I change it's angle and review and adjust all shapes.

I used a smaller brush and got up close to develop the faces a bit. It is getting there I think, but I dont want to end too soon on this one. There are many more stages possible.

Love the way they "live in " their coats. You have captured that so well.

I love that Tony. You have got the tilt of the head which is tricky I would imagine. I must go back to the ones we were doing in that workshop a while ago in the heady days when we could see each other!
