I have other strands I want to develop, but non-art aspects of life are leading the way at the moment. I start however with the tissue paper collage I did a few days ago. I photographed it in daylight which makes it easier to match the colours.
I found a few small canvases that I have had for years, so I want to explore a few ways of painting and composing. Firstly, I downloaded a few more images of faces in masks. I like the drama and angles of this one-
I started with the figures at the bottom of the page, with a view to adding a lot more to make some kind of painted collage effect.
The background figure is awful, so I painted it out.
I worked at the two remaining in just a bit more detail.
I then tried adding a standing figure. I have no idea where this is going. I need a direction soon!
Another photo showed masked figures interacting so I quickly sketched out directly with blue paint.
There are many weaknesses in the drawing so I did what I often do, and used a random colour, in ths case red, to look for essential structure lines. It is another picture in an early stage. I will move forward!
The last two days have been dominated with the council cutting back the fallen trees on my allotment. Before-
And after- At last!
