Tuesday February 9. " The unconscious poetry of everyday objects"

Just a short blog today. I put the above quote into Google to find out who said it. Didn't get a precise answer. Maybe I remember the quote wrongly. Anyway I found a link to this poet, a popular American poet, Billy Collins. I quote a section of it-

The Chairs No One Sits In

By Billy Collins

Sometimes there is a little table between the chairs where no one is resting a glass or placing a book facedown.

It might be none of my business, but it might be a good idea one day for everyone who placed those vacant chairs

on a veranda or a dock to sit down in them for the sake of remembering whatever it was they thought deserved

to be viewed from two chairs side by side with a table in between. The clouds are high and massive that day.

I took the above photo yesterday and it reminded me of a charcoal drawing I did last July. I'm not sure the chairs have been used since then

I do think that it is possible to find "meaningful" images in our immediate environment, even if we get sick of the sight of the same things!
