Just a quick one today. I will work something out re painting glassware and reflections, but today is my birthday and I have other messages to send.
I want to share with you some work I did before Christmas (a lifetime ago). I was feeling angry about bush fires and global disaster and attacked some canvases with blue and red paint. This series of 3 shows the development of the large painting I called Exodus.
The final one had some figures added loosely based on one of Goya's black paintings.
You can see from the first photos that I started 2 small canvasses as well. They developed as follows-
This is not how I normally work. They run the risk of being pretentious.
I finished the "series" with an even larger canvas. Not sure I like it at all.
I think only you see possibilities of pretentiousness. I see emotion (something I don't often see). This was a huge change from your normal ways of working, and it was a response to world horrors. I suspect you would have something similar about covid 19 if you weren't personally affected.
