I have done more to the small painting of rubbish from the allotment. I have built it up with red blue and white. Remember this is a study, not “art”.

The contrast between the surfaces in the original photo interests me. I decided last night to do a quick charcoal experiment.

I pressed on quickly to get the essence of the shapes and tones.

The areas are all here but I wanted a contrast in surfaces and techniques. The carpet area was firmly smudged with a tissue

In this finished stage I also added some thick white pastel to the carpet area to smooth and lighten it. The twig areas were attacked with broad sweeps of charcoal and a rubber. The whole drawing was done in one sitting (unusual for me) and took about 50 minutes.

A few days ago I decided to get rid of some dried poppy seeds that have been in a vase for about a year. When I cut them to get the mass of seeds, they revealed some interesting internal structure which I photographed.

I enhanced the colour on the laptop.

Did some experiments like this one-

There is a tool called backlight on Photoscape which lightens dark areas. I pressed this many times to totally transform the image

I did 4 different colour versions of the design.

Then I did spirals from the same point using the clone brush to mix the colours but keep the design.

There is scope for some drawing and painting from these seed heads. I conclude with two photos of my lounge/studio. Have got a bit carried away with sticking my work everywhere. Now I am on my own here, nobody else comes into the house!

You weren't kidding about getting more pictures up. But I can still see a bit of wall.....
