Here is today's quote-

The series of studies I have chosen is from last year. I did a number of photos of a dead sunflower and chose this corner to do a study. For some reason I was fighting the convention that flowers are beautiful!
The photo had been played with to minimise colour and exaggerate twisted form.
The painting in acrylics was started in yellow and red-
Then developments were built up in cadmium red, white and ultramarine blue.

I decided to alter the yellow background-
I worked at the detail of all areas-
Then more alterations-
I feel this is an example of flogging on with a painting until it is dead! Why have I posted this?
