Thurs 16 July. A collage completed.

Writer's picture: Tony JacksonTony Jackson

I have been cutting and sticking shapes found in animal photos. Designs are trying to be mostly random, though I make judgements all the time as I put them together. I have been cutting strips from various colours of paper and using them to offset the organic forms derived from the animal pictures.

The upper mixture is from a cut up photo of a racoon, the lower blue shape is from water around a duck. This is the final design, after much rearrangement. I have pressed on with this rather than recording many stages for the blog. It is a bit cluttered and obscure, but anxiety is part of the subject and I didn't want it too controlled and artistic.

The following is the only other photo taken earlier.

Titles for the finished collage? Danger in the city? Lockdown? Contagion?

That is all I am putting on today.

Enjoying your thoughts on collage. I'm doing some at the moment. I think it makes it easier to start a picture once a piece of collage has been laid down.
