Sunday November 1. Escape into art?

Last nigh,t after having spent too long waiting for our nation to be led, I attacked a canvas with some primary colours. Something to do with frustration and not caring very much whether or not I was likely to achieve anything. This represents about 10 minutes “work”

The above was connected with the painting I featured in my last blog. I have spent several sessions with a small brush and thin acrylics going over different parts. I like the way it evolves really slowly. The act of painting this kind of thing is very therapeutic.

This is where it has got too today. Not very different but with a bit more contrast.

The other work that featured in the last blog was the recessed relief sculpture.

After a lot of thought I painted one triangle in a warm off-white next to the recess.

Curious how it blends in, so long as the work is in a light that is coming from one angle.

I am spending a lot of time just moving the picture around the room and photographing it.

Here it is propped against the piano.

I decided to experiment with this on Photoscape, and started by putting 4 images together.

Then I turned the colour saturation high.

The clone brush was used to move elements around.

And again, changing the hue and the saturation. There is so much more!
