I start with the latest state of the Big painting. I have been adding more and more shapes in different transparencies. I think the idea is creating an echo of a pure mathematical world superimposed on desolation.

The trouble is that it is seeming contrived and pretentious. It is too big with too much fussy “stuff”.Though I have spent a lot of time on it, I shall put it to one side.
It has made me look through my old folders of work. Most of my old creative work is not very inspiring. I am putting here a few examples that I am pleased with after the passing of the years.
The first is the best of the Spatial Structures series-

I still like this Spiral Triangles-

I have resurrected this plywood relief based on Golden Section-

And this drawing from the late 60s. I drew my hand, squared it up and produced a series of distortions. I used some maths to make sure each hand has the same area and that they change in a regular way. These days I could have done this quickly on the computer

Very interesting, Tony! I hadn't seen any abstracts by you before. I am sending your blog's address to my sister in Brazil, who was involved in Conceptual Art in the past. Best wishes.
The Golden Section is very effective. i like the fact that you did it by hand.
