I dont know if my last post 2 days ago was of interest. Let me know.
I have been looking online for images of still life that appeal to me . There is a lot of basic history on Wikipedia
Try searching for-
Juan Sanchez Cotan 1560-1627. Amazing studies of vegetables against dark backgrounds.
Jan Jansz 1606- 1652
Lubin Bauguin 1610 - 1663
More modern examples on Google Images. Look for still life of Gauguin and Matisse.
I finish with some of my favorites-
2 paintings by Jean Baptiste - Simeon Chardin
One by Paul Cezanne
Chardin goes for a symmetrical design here, small objects to the front.
A classic Chardin with limited lighting.
Cezanne took ages in carefully arranging his objects and the folds in the cloth. A composition such as this is like an indoor landscape.
