While doing lots of these experimental mark-making drawings, at some point last year I latched on to holding a stick of charcoal flat on the paper and, holding the stick at each end with two hands, making zig-zag movements across the page. The patterns produced suggested images. Landscape or water, or plants. I developed many of these with the addition of some rubbing out and some watercolour details.

The above was first and suggested rocks.

More rocks and some kind of trees.

Something seen in a microscope?

More growth.

Ripples?

A mixture.

Plants and animals.

A river bank?
Fascinating marks. Really great to se your work again. Especially the river bank!
